Our week in Caterpillar Class: -
We have been busy with Easter craft activities.
Using a fork we made a feathery effect on our chick paintings.
We made a hatching chick - carefully cutting around an egg and chick template and then joining the resources using glue and a split pin to make the egg open and shut.
Freddie carefully patterned the Easter egg.
We made chicks and then photographed them on the iPad.
Easter themed sensory play: -
At the maths table we answered addition and subtraction questions written on eggs using Numicon or a number line to help us.
She was very touched by all the children's kind words and gifts.
Thank you to all of our visitors who attended our Easter themed Enterprise Day and helped us to raise money for good causes.
Well done to Dikachi who won the "Guess the name of the chick competition" and will be taking Chicky Chick home!
Our Easter Parade!
Well done to Taliyah and Muiz who were our Easter bonnet / hat winners.
This week in Ladybird Class:
We began the week by sharing some of the lovely things we
did for our mums on Mather’s Day.
We have been busy preparing for our Easter themed Enterprise
day.
We helped to make Rice crispy treats, and got very sticky in
the process.
You have to melt the chocolate first then put the rice pops in. Then it gets all sticky and messy!
We have been learning about the lifecycle of a hen. ‘We start with an egg which hatches and is a
chick. When the chick is grown up it is
a hen and the hen lays eggs. It all
starts again.’ – Kayra.
We have been recording our own silly sentences for our
morning work.
Using sheep in a field and a naughty fox’s den we have been
learning about subtraction and the naughty fox taking the sheep away.
We have continued to reinforce our coin work with our in
class shop. Thank you to all the parents
sending in WOW moments about their child playing shops at home or going to the
shop and looking at money and its value.
The children are really showing a good understanding of money and how it
works.
Demonstrating we can handles tools safely and with
increasing control to construct split pin eggs for our chicks to hatch
from.
‘I cut out the egg and chick and put the holes with a
screwdriver. Then I put the pin in to
hold it together. I like my chick - it is only little.’ – Patrycja
For PE we practiced good listening skills when using the parachute.
We can all put our socks on, on our own.
We used our own thumb print to make a yellow Easter chilck shape.
Later when it was dry, we using marker pens to add detail to make the prints look like little easter chicks. We hope you like them!!
Thank you so much to all the adults who came to see us on
Enterprise Day this Thursday. I was
great to see you all and have you come and support the school by buying some of
our lovely treats.
The lovely treats the children made to sell - they definately went down a treat!
Charlie made a rocket
that can turn into a monster dinosaur.
Great cutting skills being used.
Some geat reading going on in our book corner.
Beautiful interactions going on with all the children!
I have granny and grandad here. I love my granny and grandad. - Louise.
