Ladybird fun in forest school

As part of outdoor week we have been in the forest school area, using pastels, crayons and watercolours.

The children created some lovely pieces of artwork using the different mediums and mixing some of them too.

Some of the beautiful artwork Ladybirds have produced.

Some children made rubbings of the different textures they found outside to create their pictures, like the bark of a tree or textured blue sky.

Ladybird egg rocket

We worked with the ladies from Ben Bullen to create  a parachute type rocket to protect the fragile cargo ( an egg ) from getting damaged upon landing.

3 eggs survived - hooray!

Ladybirds and worms

This morning we met the SWAC team (School Waste Action Club) who talked about the 3 R’s - Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.

We learnt that worms are a great natural source for making new compost, which is good for growing beautiful plants.

Here the class are making their own wormary – which we will be observing over the week.
